September 2017, Powerhouse, Tennis Superstar Serena Williams gave birth to her Baby Girl, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. Little did we know, Serena suffered serious complications from giving birth to her daughter. She suffered from Life threatening blood clots. Which almost killed her. Serena KNEW something was wrong, she trusted her body and her instincts as she had in the past with tennis. Serena basically had to BEG her doctors to take another look into what was causing her so much pain. Serena was right! Something was off. She has blood clots. Thankfully she was able to get the treatment she needed to make a recovery.
During the French Open May 29, 2018. Serena played in a Skin tight Black Nike Catsuit and WON!!! However, the French Open is now banning the Catsuit, stating that it is not the correct uniform. Many didn’t know, and maybe the French Open doesn’t know, understand or care…this is a compression suit, designed for Serena so she will not get blood clots while playing or at least reduce the chances.
Serena Williams is a world class Athlete. It seems like she is ALWAYS being singled out. Tested for drugs. And now the Catsuit. I understand rules are rules. But Banning a life Saving compression body suit is over the top. Yes, Serena’s body is amazing, but she’s so much more than that. She’s a Mom, a Superhero, Top Paid Athlete and above all just trying to conquer a medical condition she has NO control over and a role model to many. Yet, I love the way Serena keeps moving forward despite adversity.
French Open, or whoever makes the rules, you got it ALL wrong.
