WNBA Finally getting the SHINE they deserve

In 1996, WE GOT NEXT, mean’t that women were forming an All Women’s Professional Basketball league. And while Women don’t make as much as men in the NBA, or get the recognition they deserve, women still played the sport and made it fun. We have the greats, Sheryl Swoopes, who has signature  Nike Sneakers; Dawn Staley, Lisa Leslie, Chamique Holdsclaw, Diana Taurasi, I could go on. But the recent hype and support of the WNBA has been amazing. Recently Ty Young was wearing a unique pair of Dwyane Wade’s Li-Ning’s Sneakers, she was told that if she wore the Sneakers again, she would be fined. Dwyane Wade said to send the $500 fine his way. And if you follow Ty on Instagram you KNOW she got them Sneakers.

With the recent support of women, the Surge of popularity for the WBNA has been amazing. Floyd Mayweather has been spotted at games, Atlanta’s Own Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms has shown plenty of support and I will say, it has been a fun sport to watch. Especially with Atlanta Dream leading the pack. The Atlanta Dream made it to the play-offs. We will see who they play on Sunday.

I am excited to see what happens with the WNBA. No, they aren’t selling out arenas BUT the WNBA is helping young ladies embrace basketball and believe in themselves, along with the star athletes and entertainers that are showing love and support.

Let’s GO Atlanta Dream!!

Peace, Love and Sneakervision!!
