So, last night I am sitting, relaxing about to fall asleep; I have a Nike App on my phone that sends me different notifications. Well, when I looked at it, it was saying congrats to Simone Manuel for being the first black female to medal in that category. I really did not know who she was. But Google is my bestfriend. This 20 year old swimmer has won the Gold Medal after completing the 100 meter free style. What an exciting feeling that HAS to be. Thank you Simone for inspiring every little girl and especially our ladies of color. We can DO anything we set our mind to do. No Limits! Salute. New York Times.
